Missed It, Again

News: Well, it is Monday and you met on Friday last week and here I am finally adding my ruppel (?) or whatever. I have been over my head for the last few weeks getting ready for a meeting that took place today. Our Woman's Club hosted, with lunch, the District Meeting of I do not know how many clubs. The President of our club has a sick husband she has to stay home with so, guess who a lot of the responsibility fell on? Well, it is over and now on to the next big thing which is
Casino Night. In the meantime, we have an Art Guild Luncheon Meeting and their big fundraiser which both Tom and I are a part of and then all the Geezers and their wives are coming over for fight night at our home. Throw in working a couple of afternoons a week and maybe some on the weekend. Tom and I are getting away for three whole days next week and going to Avilla Beach which is near San Luis Obispo! Tom's sister from NC hopes to visit us at the end of October.

Review: I thought the book was only okay. It was depressing. It was, however, true to life in that as much as you wanted to see the guy somehow rise above and get out of his position, he did not in the end. We volunteered on Saturday night for a fundraiser for the Painted Turtle, one of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps. I said I felt like I was in India! First, we had the super sponsors in the very middle under the canopy and they got the big bow bags with gifts, then we had the circle of tables around them that were the best sponsors and they had green and blue ribbons, then came the better sponsors who had another color ribbon on their bags, then the good sponsors who had yet another color ribbon, it went on until the peons had bags on their table with nothing in them because they ran out of gifts. The money just flowed that evening! Our friend brought in $1200 for his painting and he said they got a bargain! Somethings went for thousands of dollars! They had a $12,500 One Carrot Ring donated that was raffeled off at $100 a ticket! We were in far over our heads - that is why we were the volunteer workers! I wonder how the discussion went? Let me know either on Blog or at my e-mail address. I miss you all so very much!!! Peace Linda
