Last week I bought a bag of books from the Cromaine Library. I am just reading the first one now. It is "A Good House" by Bonnie Burnard. She is a Canadian writer, winner of the 1999 Giller prize for fiction. I am very much enjoying it. The story is set in a small town in Canada near Lake Huron. I like the writing because is it quiet and subtle. For me it is a most enjoyable book and I will seek out others by this author.
